Kristina Thompson is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) and Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) with over 15 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals, couples, families, and groups. She specializes in treating mental health and substance use disorders and has extensive experience working across outpatient, intensive outpatient, recovery support, and community-based settings.
Since 2015, Kristina has served as a Counselor at The Center for Prevention and Counseling, where she spearheaded the development of family and couples therapy services within the clinical department. Her work includes conducting comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, case management, and facilitating individual and group counseling. She has also led grant-funded therapeutic groups in community and correctional settings.
Kristina’s clinical interests include Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the treatment of Personality Disorders. She holds specialized certifications in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Individual Therapy, Advanced Personality Disorders Diagnosis, Treatment & Management, and is a SMART Recovery Facilitator.
